i bought John Mayer's cd Continuum 2 weeks ago and i really like it. There are few CDs that I have an affinity for right away and this was one of them. Most other CDs have to grow on me before I can listen to them in entirety. I am not a musical genius so I can't comment on whether the chord structure or progressions are as complicated as his previous CDs (apparently it is not) etc, but it doesn't matter, Continuum can definitely be classified under "easy listening." John Mayer (the guy who can appreciate Doodlebop's music for its structure) would fit nicely on CHUM fm's playlists.
the songs i really like (in no particular order):
Slow Dancing in a Burning Room
The Heart of Life
Dreaming with a broken heart
In Repair
Stop this train
Heart of Life by John Mayer
I hate to see you cry lying there in that position
There's things you need to hear
So turn off your tears and listen
Pain throws your heart to the ground
Love turns the whole thing around
No it won't all go the way it should
But i know the heart of life is good
You know it's nothing new
That news never had good timing
But then the circle of your friends
Will defend the silver lining
Pain throws your heart to the ground
Love turns the whole thing around
No it won't all go the way it should
But i know the heart of life is good
Pain throws your heart to the ground
Love turns the whole thing around
Fear is a friend who's misunderstood
But i know the heart of life is good, i know it's good, i know it's good
Oh i know it's good
Oh i know it's good
Oh i do, i do, i do
Oh i know it's good
