memory lane

today we had a high school reunion of sorts and it was really entertaining to bring up stories from our elementary school days. For example, the boys told us about how Eric had been making fun of Brent about a girl in Grade 6 so Brent kicked Eric where it truly hurts for a boy. To stand up for himself, Eric told Brent, "It didn't hurt!" even though the kick temporarily eliminated Eric's ability to walk.

Here is another story from 1989:
One day during recess, Esther was being very bossy. As a result, Child 1 told Child 2, "Esther's dumb!" Child 2 said, "Yeah, she is!" THEN Child 1 ran to Esther and told her that Child 2 said she was dumb SO Esther got understandably very upset, she cried and then refused to speak to Child 2 for a year.

I honestly have no recollection of this happening BUT I WAS APPARENTLY CHILD 1. I TOLD ANN THAT I THOUGHT ESTHER WAS DUMB AND THEN I RATTED HER OUT!!! oh my goodness.. my mouth was GAPING when Ann told this story. I HAD NO IDEA THAT I WAS SUCH AN EVIL CHILD. ahh.. i learn new things EVERY DAY.
